Great Horned Owls get their name from the two tufts on their head that look like horns. Their wing span can reach up to 2 meters, and due to their shape and softly fringed feather edges, these owls are able to fly in near silence!

While owls do not have a great sense of smell. they can hear sounds ten miles away, and while they see only in black and white, their eyes are incredibly sensitive and powerful – though unable to move their eyes very much, they have evolved to be able to rotate their heads 270 degrees!
